School history books will naturally cover limited number of freedom fighters because of obvious limitations. This does not mean others are ignored. Also which ideology is in power also decides to a large extent who will be highlighted.

Yes, the political parties has influenced our historical books.  In some of our history books, authors tried to show these freedom fighters as terrorists.

Really a shame. The Book 'India's struggle for Independence' a part of Delhi University curriculum, refers freedom fighter Bhagat Singh as a revolutionary terrorist.

I wonder, why this book is not banned.

The term terrorist has today taken a totally different meaning than during Bhagat Singhs time. Bipin chandra is a responsible historian who has written many eminent historical books. Please understand the background and do not being him to our level.

If terror was viewed differently during freedom struggle why do some political leaders continue to call them terrorists even now when terror has taken a different meaning altogether ?

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

Terming Martyrs like Bhagat Singh is a blunder, at any time

Martyrs are those blessed people , who laid their lives for the sake of the Country.

Even if the sacrifices made by these Martyrs are not mentioned in History Books, i don't think their greatness will reduce, . The sacrifices made by Bhagat Singh, Sukdev Thapar and Rajguru will remain in the hearts of Indians will remain forever.

No it is not right that Martyrs are not mentioned in History books. In history of books of Punjab and Rajasthan they are martyr. But in government record there three are not martyr..

Government History books or Record books are mere blunders. These Government Books or records need not be taken seriously.
